Welcome To The Foundation For Overcoming Abuse

From a young age I have always been drawn to butterflies because of their grace, beauty and sense of freedom.

As I grew older they began to carry more meaning for me.

In many ways we can be taken advantage of, even by the people who we trust.  As a result we can begin to feel unappreciated and unimportant.

Butterflies start out as these small creatures that tend to go unnoticed; and in a short time they go through a change that seems to happen over night.  In a sense they are reborn and become these beautiful creatures that dance in the wind.  They have such freedom; and even though many butterflies don't live much longer than two weeks, they still enjoy the life that they have.

I strongly believe that there is something to be learned from them.  No matter what happens in life we are still beautiful, we still matter and even though we may feel small at times, we still have the chance to make the best of the life we have.
